“From the time we were in Grammar School, I always knew that Semmes had my back. He and I have discussed Life insurance on many occasions. The first time Semmes brought up the subject was when I started Graduate school. As an undergrad, I had racked up a fair amount of student loan debt and would add to it for Grad school. Semmes suggested that I consider a small life insurance policy to cover that debt, in case something catastrophic occurred. That way my parents would not be burdened with the debt. I agreed with his thoughtful suggestion and took out a small policy, to cover me, a least until I finished Grad school and had a company policy to cover me.

During my work life, Semmes was always available to comment on the company provided insurance that was provided. When I retired from my last job, I had an interesting option, that Semmes and I worked through. I was able to continue my participation in the company GVUL that I had carried for years. After reviewing the coverage, pricing and strength of issuer, Semmes suggested that I could not match the coverage and pricing in a single person policy. Based on this information, I elected to continue participation in the company plan.

When my spouse retired, she did not have the same continuation option. So of course, I looked to Semmes to put together a package for her life. After a couple of iterations, we found a policy with coverage and pricing that fit my budget, So we signed up with his recommended insurer.
